Dr. Pelto is a public health researcher, evaluator, and educator whose work addresses access to care and quality of care among marginalized populations. She has been a Health Disparities Scholar (National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities) and received postdoctoral training in Psycho-Oncolo
Dr. Pelto is a public health researcher, evaluator, and educator whose work addresses access to care and quality of care among marginalized populations. She has been a Health Disparities Scholar (National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities) and received postdoctoral training in Psycho-Oncology, Immigrant Health, and in Cancer Prevention and Control. She holds a doctoral degree in Sociomedical Sciences (Columbia University). Dr. Pelto has worked closely in health promotion, research, and evaluation with African American and Latine communities in New York City, New Jersey, and Virginia. She has lived in the U.S., Ecuador, and Spain, and has traveled extensively in Mexico and El Salvador, Central America. She founded Fundamental Health Research in 2017.
We build a team to meet the needs of each project, choosing from among our experienced consultants and collaborators. Team member expertise includes:

She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a doctoral degree in Health Psychology, and is CEO and Founder of Research Unlimited.

His background includes collaborating with small farms and on multiple community garden and apiculture projects in New York City, New York State, and New Jersey; assisting in developing
Carlos Espinal is an educator and community organizer with broad experience in topics related to permaculture, food access, land stewardship, and health. His background includes collaborating with small farms and on multiple community garden and apiculture projects in New York City, New York State, and New Jersey; assisting in developing marketing and outreach programs; performing community consultations and assessments around hunger and food access; and educating both inner-city youth and small farmers. Carlos holds several certifications in permaculture, farming, and coaching on health. He founded 100th Seed in 2017 with the mission of providing whole systems solutions to issues related to food, agriculture and the environment.
